With many years of experience in the equine industry Sophie has refined her skills over the years to recognise quality when she sees it. From working in the racing industry for 10 years which included her riding as an amateur jockey where riding an assortment of horses from breakers to school masters aided in her confidence to get on any kind of horse. While in the racing industry she also attended some of the high profile race horse sales in the country where she was able to refine her ability to look at pedigree and conformation to see what makes a top class equine athlete.

From this Sophie decided to set up her own business buying, producing and selling an assortment of horses from riding club to hunters and competition horses. Recently Sophie has spent the past 12 months working as a veterinary technician at a leading orthopaedic veterinary practice where she closely assisted vets with lameness cases. 

All these roles have lead Sophie to make the decision to set up The Sports Horse Agent to assist people with limited time and help to source their new equine partner. With great contacts in the UK and Ireland including sellers, vets and transport companies. With the possibility of making strong contacts in the continent too. Sophie aims to make the purchase process of buying your next equine partner as stress free as possible. 

We work on a standardised retainer fee of £300.00 per month this includes:       

•  Looking through online adverts. 
•  Utilising my extensive network of industry contacts to find the correct horse for your needs.  
• Contacting sellers on your behalf about available horses and assessing whether they are suitable for your needs. 
• Attending viewings on behalf of clients mileage may be charged when viewings are over 20miles.
• Sourcing vets for vettings. 
• Sourcing transporters if required.   

Finders / completion fee : £150   

Extra services can be provided at extra cost: 

• Trialing horses out hunting  
• Being present at vetting's on behalf of client.
